Let me start by telling you about my results. I was hoping for this retinol serum to lessen the finer wrinkles on my forehead, help lighten an age spot on my upper cheek, and even out some roughness and redness on my face. I'm impressed--within ten days, it started doing all that and also minimized the pores on my nose! I had tried retinol from a major brand a few years ago, and my skin really reacted badly to it. When Eight Saints added Smooth Sailing retinol cream and serum to their line, I decided to give them a try. Both of these products are lovely, but the serum has my greater allegiance for now. It is so light, without being watery, it has great slip, and it is easy to smooth into facial skin. It is free of any artificial fragrance, but it has a light botanical scent. I like that it contains hyaluronic acid because that always feels like it plumps up my skin. I do have a few tips to share: First, use it in the evening and follow it with a moisturizer. I'm liking the double punch of following it with Smooth Sailing retinol cream, but I alternate every other night with Up the Anti. I'm sure Eight Saints' Daydreamer or Cloud Whip would also work well. Start slow to make sure you don't have a negative reaction, and make sure to use a sunscreen the following day. Chase the Sun is Eight Saints' sunscreen moisturizer, and it works great for daily use. If you like the Eight Saints brand, I'll share my simple nightly routine: after cleansing, use the serum, let it soak in for a minute, add moisturizing cream, then All In eye cream, Lip Trick vanilla lip mask, and you're all set--quick and easy!

I get adult hormonal acne every month before my menstrual. It's literally clock-work. And then it leaves little acne spots, even when I don't pick at them, so I bought this serum specifically for that.
Immediate pay off was tight and glowing skin. It took about a week of consistent use but my skin began to heal and the acne marks began to lighten. Important to note that my age spot didn't change, but nothing I've used has made it go away lol I just have to accept that it needs to be lasered.
If you don't like the tight feeling, but still want the dark spot lightening aspect, a little face lotion or face oil will fix that problem!
The serum itself is runny like any other serum, not thick at all. I like to use it generously but I do think a little will go a long way. The smell is a citrusy-ginger (to me) but it's very light and goes away immediately.
I used this after the Eight Saints mud facial cleanser, which seemingly dried out the acne and shrank my pores. Together, the combo made my skin so pretty.

So I decided to give it a couple weeks of using this product before I wrote my review. Just to make sure the hype was real. And it is!
I really like how my skin has improved with using the Eight Saints vitamin C serum. It definitely has reduced fine lines and wrinkles (im at that age where i need this), but it more importantly, it has reduced my 'tired skin'. My skin just overall looks more beautiful, more plum, and the texture has even gotten smoother.
The dark sunspots from sun damage are slowly starting to lighten. My skin overall feels much more hydrated on a deeper level.
Also, I have tried several other vitamin C serums. This one is the best! I have tried more expensive and cheaper ones. More name brand and lesser-known.
For application/ texture:This serum goes on a little bit like a gel... It lasts long enough to sink into your skin and provide that staying power, yet not so long that your skin feels gummy and you feel like you're caked on with goo.
Instead it lasts long enough that your skin has a couple minutes to absorb it. Other Vitamin C serums that I have tried either absorbed far too quickly, or I felt like I had a film stuck on my face. Neither was the case with the Eight Saints C serum.

Great product. It's light and doesn't leave your skin feeling tacky after application. It smells great. In the 2+ months that I've used this serum the color or the smell didn't turn (no degradation). Works very well under sunscreen and makeup. I can definitely see improvements with my skin. Why only four stars? The dropper shown is not the dropper that came with the serum. It has a little bulb on the end and quite frankly it's the worst. If the consistency of the serum was thinner (or more liquidy) it would be fine, but it's not. As a result there's some waste going on. There's always some product stuck in this bulb dropper so I either get everything or nothing. And when I get everything it's too much. With this serum a little goes a long way. I think I'm at the end of the bottle because very little is coming out the dropper consistently. The bottle is opaque (as it should be) so I can't tell. I'm willing to spend some coin on a quality and clean product which this small bottle is. But please notice I said *spend* and not *waste*. This could've been my holy grail Vit C but to fight the bulb dropper so I can apply it is crazy work. The search continues.

This Vitamin C serum has a citrusy smell that is very energizing and reminds me of summer. When I put it on, I do feel a skin tightening effect. Not so visibly, but on the skin I feel a slight tightening. I will see how it progresses with time, but do feel that my skin is slightly brighter after using it this week. And it's a product I look forward to putting on my skin, which is important to me. I mostly use it at night under my other night cream. But occasionally I put it on in the morning under my daily moisturizer. Also, the packaging is beautiful. I'm a photographer, so I aways appreciate a product with lovely packaging.

I’ve used a few different right saints products, their body lotion, pep rally serum, seaweed toner, under eye cream, all amazing, but when I received a sample of this last year with another product, it smelled so amazing that I savored that tiny sample tube for like a month LOL. Finally I bought my own and I used it every day for weeks and took the before photo to show my mom how bad my ache had gotten. I’m 34 years old, why is this happening to me!? She told me to buy vitamin c and I was like yeeeeah I know, I know just the thing! After almost 4 weeks it is completely clear. See after photo. This also includes washing my face, and using toner, I use right saints seaweed spray toner it’s refreshing and makes my skin feel cleaner than any other toner, no alcohol, and then I apply seeking c in the morning and after work. When I wash my face at night I use their pep rally serum. If you’re looking for a good face serum that helps with break outs and not only pimples but those pesky pores that trap dirt in them, then you gotta try seeking c from eight saints collection. I’ve tried several vitamin c serums and creams and non of them smell this good (orange groves scent not fake orange sugar scent there’s nothing worse than orange sugar taste and smell, ew!) but this one is like orange groves blowing in the wind it’s the best and my face sucks this stuff up when it’s dry, but I then go over it a second time and it keeps my face feeling hydrated. I do use a different brand for my face sunscreen and I wait about 20 minutes before applying but that’s just me, I had an issue with piling when I did that, but also my face gets super dry and it could also be dead skin 😫. 10 out of 10! You will love any product you buy! “Run, don’t walk.” jk. But really, go.
**ps- my after photos were done in much lower light but the results are 100% authentic. I tried to lower the saturation so that if I did have any hidden pimples then the color manipulation would define them. Zero pimples today but some dry redness from picking at my last one last week!

This serum is a part of my morning routine , I use it under my SPF moisturizer. It has almost an instant brightening and smoothing effect, It goes on smoothly and absorbs really fast, which is great when I’m strapped for time.

This serum is sooooo good- eight saints knocked it out of the park yet again! 👏 I love the way this company takes care of how their products are shipped, this is boxed then wrapped up in bubble wrap to ensure safe delivery. This comes in a glass bottle with a glass dropper as means for taking the product out to apply. The dropper has a rubber top and it is packaged separate from the bottle and the bottle comes with a top on it so it is sealed until you put the dropper in for the first use, so there is no chance of cracked seals or leaking of the product. LOVE THAT. From the packaging to the product itself is so pretty, it's chic and the way it looks and feels is very luxurious. The box it comes in has a matte suede-like texture to it, and is nice enough to either store with the box or have out on your vanity. The bottle itself of course is a darker matted color so no sunlight gets in that could affect the potency of the product. The serum is a milky orange/yellow in color, but once applied it soaks in and there is no color or residue. The serum isn't watery thin, it's on the thicker side, almost like an essence type feel, however it is lightweight and has a high concentration that absorbs wonderfully into the skin. This will absorb pretty quickly, but I would recommend letting it sit for about a minute once applied, to ensure its really getting down in the skin. This leaves no tacky or sticky feeling to your skin, doesn't pill, and it layers really well with other products. I'm someone that has many steps in my face wash routine that entails sandwiching several serums and this product does great with both a little bit of product over and on top of it, or with multiple serums and moisturizers and oils on top of it as well. I like how this makes a nice palate prepped and ready for the next product to be applied. This is good not just for a night routine, but also morning routines too. The smell is like a creamy lemon/orange scent and is heavenly, but it's very light and once you apply it to your skin the scent goes away if anyone is concerned with having the scent carry with you throughout the day. This serum gives such a beautiful natural matte glow to your skin, the kind of glow that looks like it's radiant from within, it's not greasy looking and doesn't look fake and like you have a ton of product on. This works for all skin types, even sensitive skin, and there's no skin purging when beginning to incorporate this into your routine.
